The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services into the community.

SASSA might be rendering services such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency explained it is alarmed about the substantial range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the superior number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office committed to service the area regularly. The company point produced for intervention experiences a higher influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it complicated with the Workplace to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to allow the servicing of all clients and raise entry to Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.

For SRD more information, community members can call toll SRD free during working days/hours on 0800 60 10 11 and WhatsApp on sassa status 082 046 8553. - SAnews.gov.za
